Endocrine hypertension belongs to the group of secondary forms of hypertension and mostly is caused by disorders of the adrenal gland. There are also nonadrenal endocrine conditions that can lead to hypertension secondary to hormonal imbalance and this test is best to identify such disorders.

Aldosterone, Renin Test:

Preventive test is to screening your levels of renin and aldosterone at the same time to know aldosterone-renin ratio.

The test results will tell you if your renin and aldosterone levels are high, low, or normal. High or low levels may help explain why you have high blood pressure:

High renin with normal aldosterone may show that you’re sensitive to salt.

Low renin and high aldosterone may mean your adrenal glands aren’t working the way they should.

If both are high, it can be a sign that there’s a problem with your kidneys.

Screening test includes;

cardiac risk marker, cholesterol, thyroid, diabetis HbA1C, kidney, liver as well as those related to blood count hemogram.

It’s always better to prevent an illness or risk factor rather than treat it after it develops. There are many important risk factors that are within the body. Steps like preventive tests can help prevent or slow down an illness. Making small changes in your daily life can help you stay active and independent as you get older.
